I just joined a great group of writers who support indie authors, the Northwest Independent Writers Association (NIWA). Having a lot of fun helping them promote themselves, and learning a little about the world of POD and ePublishing. Also just attended a presentation by Randy Ingersmanson, a theoretical physicist and inventor of the Snowflake Method of Writing. One of the highlights of the event was that Mr. Ingersmanson's AV wasn't working, so I stepped in. A little later he had another equipment failure. He actually asked for my help that time and I was happy, and very relieved, when I was able to fix the problem.
As to the writing itself; most recently I've been working on my new serial killer novel, Cold Kill, with the help of Washington County Medical Examiner Gene Jacobus, who was the lead consultant on Ann Rule's book, Murder by Sunset. I've also been working with a local sheriff's deputy getting an inside look at what the day-to-day life of a deputy is really like. I'll be doing a ride along as soon as my paperwork is finished. Sometimes I'm not sure what's more fun, the writing or the research.
